A PHOTOGRAPHER from Bournemouth who has been bringing joy to thousands with his heart-warming pictures of ‘flying dogs’ has attracted attention as far as Australia.

Bournemouth Echo:

Daniel Sheridan, 31, from Ensbury Park, has been capturing striking images of canines jumping in the air with the help of some tasty treats.

His pictures have appeared across a number of national newspapers and have now attracted attention in Australia after being asked to be interviewed for breakfast TV programme, The Today Show.

Daniel, who works full time at Bournemouth council helping children with special needs get to school, is a photographer in his spare time under the name A Billion Clicks Photography and started taking pictures of other people's dogs as a means of expanding his portfolio.

He is also a member of the Daily Echo's Camera Club and won the monthly competition in December with his image of Frasier the Shetland Sheepdog.

Bournemouth Echo:

He said: “The reason I love capturing dogs in action and mid-air is because that is when you capture all their character. If they have longer ears they'll fly about, certain breeds will have big tongues that will fly out of their mouth or quite often it looks like they are smiling.”

Bournemouth Echo:

"If they trust me and know I'm fun and have tasty rewards they'll usually fly right towards me," he added.

Some of Daniel’s previous subjects have included Prince the Boston Terrier, Buzz the Pomeranian, Dexter the Pug and Holly the Staffie.

Bournemouth Echo:

Daniel, who has six rescue dogs of his own, said: “Pugs don't tend to leap like collies or poms, but as we had Dexter the pug on sand it meant it wasn't as difficult for him to jump. The second I meet them I'll roll around on the floor or let them climb all over me. It's a trust thing. I will often get slobbery kisses.”

Bournemouth Echo:

He added: "The age old 'never work with children or animals' doesn't matter to me. I'd like to think I make people smile with both the things I do."
