SO the police have stopped and warned 125 young car drivers with suspected Facebook passengers.
Disgusting, even though not one driver was under any influence of drink or drugs.
The practice works like this. One young driver who begrudges a £30 taxi from Verwood, typically, to Bournemouth goes on Facebook and offers four spare seats for a “contribution” to petrol. The driver does not drink all night, and safely carries the passengers home at the end, saving the fare of £60, doubled after midnight.
We, in these austere times, are advised to prioritise our spends, when our budgets are limited.
I accept the authorities are very sparsely manned these days, but I do wonder if 125 potential criminals have got off scot free whilst our kids are stopped for this harmless practice?
