AN INVESTIGATION is under way after a fire at an assisted living property in Bournemouth.
Police said they are liaising closely with fire investigators following the blaze at Vale Lodge in Vale Road just before midnight last night.
Dorset Police, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue and South Western Ambulance crews all attended the scene.
At least one person was treated as a result of the fire.
The property, described as Extra Care Housing, is managed by Bournemouth council. It is thought to provide accommodation for vulnerable people.
A witness said there were three ambulances, three fire engines and three police cars at the scene.
The fire service confirmed crews attended from Springbourne, Redhill and Westbourne.
Two hose reel jets and four sets of breathing apparatus were used to extinguish a small fire.
They left after around 45 minutes.
