PLAYING their first ever gig in Bournemouth the Wombats were determined to make it a night to remember. With all of the tickets selling out well in advance you could feel the anticipation in the air when the lights went down and the three guys strolled out onto the stage. During the following 90-minutes, Matthew and Tord covered every inch of the stage whilst Dan supplied the beat that drove them, and the crowd, on and on.

Opening with Cheetah Tongue, Moving To New York and Jump Into The Fog they set a relentless tempo thanks to their boundless energy and a set list that took in ten years and four albums worth of pure quality.

Give Me A Try and 1996 followed and had the crowd in fine voice almost matching the volume from the stage.

Kill The Director ignited the crowd with a thunderous chorus of This is no Bridget Jones once again belted out by the band and crowd as one. To be honest nearly every song was greeted with a roar from the crowd who sang along to nearly every word.

They wanted to make it a night to remember and turn a cold and wet Tuesday in to a sweltering Saturday night out and the Wombats achieved that and then some. An excellent night of pure entertainment.
