A DOG was rescued by a lifeboat crew after falling from a cliff near Old Harry Rocks.
After falling, the dog was seen by the owners to be swimming in the shallow water just south of the headline.
Swanage Lifeboat Station was called to the incident just before midday yesterday.
A spokesperson for the station said: “As the crew made ready to launch, a Shannon class lifeboat on training duty rounded Old Harry and reported that they could see both the owners, on the top of the cliffs, and the dog. They were unable to help directly but were able to indicate to the inshore lifeboat as it closed upon the scene exactly where the dog was.”
The dog was rescued at around 12.45pm and appeared unhurt. It was reunited with its owners at South Beach in Studland.
