CARICATURE drawings of former pupils of the old Kingsleigh School in Bournemouth have been released in a bid to boost The Bourne Academy's Alumni Association.

Staff at the Hadow Road school hope the public will recognise those featured and get back in touch with their old school community.

The picture shows a summer literacy school from 1999 and pictures students wearing T-shirts with slogans including The Spice Girls, South Park and Star Wars.

The school was originally known as East Howe Girls and East Howe Boys Secondary when it was built in 1937.

In 1967 the two schools merged to become Kingsleigh Secondary School and it became The Bourne Academy in 2007.

The Alumni Association was launched in 2015 in a bid to bring together former staff and pupils.

Former pupils who wish to get in touch can inspire current students, provide careers advice or offer workshops or mentoring.

They will also be invited to Academy events and productions and to regular reunions and will get the chance to feature in the school's newsletter.

Anyone who recognises any of those in the picture or who wishes to get in touch with the school should email alumni@thebourneacademy.com
