A MAN charged following an explosion at a property in Poole has been remanded into custody ahead of his next court appearance.
Ian Clowes, who is of no fixed abode, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
The 67-year-old has not yet entered a plea to a charge of arson with intent or reckless as to whether life was endangered.
Clowes was charged after an incident in Sterte Road shortly before 1.50pm on Monday, October 22.
A property which had been divided into two flats was destroyed in a blast.
Clowes, who was 66 at the time, was seriously injured. He was airlifted to hospital, where he remained for several months. He was then charged by detectives following his release.
A woman in her 60s, who was in the ground floor flat at the time, suffered minor injuries.
Clowes will next appear at Bournemouth Crown Court in February.
