A MAN was left with four broken ribs and a black eye following a street robbery in Bournemouth.

The incident happened at around 5am on Sunday, January 13, 2019, on Old Christchurch Road at the junction with Lorne Park Road.

The victim, a local man aged in his 40s, was approached by two men before he was punched in the head and fell to the ground.

His mobile phone, jewellery and cash were stolen.

The victim received hospital treatment.

Police say both offenders are described as black men aged in their 20s, of slim build and with London accents. One was around six feet two inches tall with dark-coloured short hair. The second man was around six feet tall with similar hair.

Detective Constable Ben Swain, of Bournemouth CID, said: "A full investigation is underway and I am appealing to anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious around the time of the incident to please come forward."
