THE police officer who suffered Novichok poisoning after attending Sergei Skripal's home last March has returned to work.

As reported in the Daily Echo, Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey, who lives in Alderholt, was left critically ill after attending Sergei Skripal's home in Christie Miller Road on March 4.

He visited the address after the former Russian former spy and his daughter were found unconscious in Salisbury city centre.

Wiltshire Police has confirmed that DS Bailey has now returned to work after a lengthy absence to recuperate.

The brave officer spent some three weeks at Salisbury District Hospital after falling ill.

It was later discovered that the nerve agent had been administered to the property's door handle.

DS Bailey, his wife and children were unable to return to their home as he had unknowingly contaminated the property when he returned.
