BEST foot forward - a Dorset disability charity is urging supporters to sign up to its annual Neon Run.

The event takes place in Poole Park on Saturday, April 27 in aid of Diverse Abilities, which supports children and adults with disabilities - and their families - throughout the county.

Last year's Neon Run raised more than £10,000 for the charity and organisers are hoping this year's event, which is sponsored by Castlepoint shopping park, will be bigger and better than ever before.

Those signing up can glow as they run, dance or walk around the 5k evening route, with a Dorset Neon Run t-shirt, glow sticks, bracelets and neon paint to help light up the night.

A local DJ will get everyone in the party mood during event registration and there will be a warm up from a Zumba instructor just before setting off.

Sue Reid, events manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “Last year was so much fun and everyone had a fantastic time. We hope many more local people take part in the event this year which will help us light up the lives of children and adults living with disabilities in Dorset.”

The Dorset Neon Run is open to anyone over the age of 12 and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. On the night, registration is from 7pm, with the warm up at 9.10pm and the race starting at 9.30pm.

Phase one pricing is open now and entry is £10, increasing to £20 closer to the event. To find out more or sign up visit dorsetneonrun.com. To find out more about Diverse Abilities, visit diverseabilities.org.uk or call 01202 718266.
