A MAN caught drink-driving in Poole last month cannot be offered a rehabilitation course - as he's off to travel the world.
Shane Murray, 27, drove a Vauxhall Astra in Poole Road with 94 micrograms of alcohol in his breath on November 24.
The limit is 35mg.
Murray, of Stanley Green Road, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on December 11 to admit drunk driving.
He was fined £615 and ordered to pay a £61 surcharge and £85 costs. He was also disqualified from driving for 24 months.
Magistrates usually offer a drink-drive rehabilitation course to drivers, which reduces a driving ban when completed successfully.
However, the course was not offered to Murray as he is going backpacking in January.
