ACTORS Martin Clunes, Guy Henry and Debra Stephenson added some celebrity sparkle to an annual Christmas charity event.

The trio were readers at the annual Julia’s House Carols by Candlelight concert, which took place at St James Church, Poole on Monday, December 3, with ticket holders also joined for the third year running by AFC Bournemouth manager and charity patron Eddie Howe.

Valerie Singleton and Johnnie Walker headlined at another services which took place at St James’ Church, Shaftesbury on December 5, with guests at both events enjoying music, carols and readings followed by mince pies and mulled wine.

Community fundraising manger Laura Kelly said: “There is always such a lovely, warm atmosphere at the carols by candlelight concerts. Christmas is all about family and we really feel like our family is coming together for Christmas at these events.

"The church is filled with the children and their mums, dads and siblings, our very supportive Patrons and our kindest supporters who are all there for the same reasons of good will. It was a wonderful concert!”

The concerts helped to raise more than £20,000 for the care of Julia’s House children and families.
