A MAN appeared in court to deny stalking a waitress from Christchurch’s Pinocchio Restaurant.
Robert Anthony Simon Luther-Smith, aged 63, of Ferncroft Road, Bournemouth, is accused of stalking without fear/alarm/distress, and harassment without fear/alarm/distress.
Prosecuting, Richard Oakley told Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday how Luther-Smith had been a regular customer of the restaurant for 18 months.
After six months, Mr Oakley said, Luther-Smith is alleged to have started presenting the waitress with unwanted gifts and letters.
He is also reported to have sent various messages on Facebook.
After being banned from the restaurant it is alleged he continued to call the premises almost on a daily basis.
Mr Luther-Smith spoke only to confirm his name and address, and to plead not guilty to all charges.
He will appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court for a further hearing next year.
