FIVE lucky neighbours in Christchurch are celebrating after being announced as winners of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The residents of Whitehayes Road in Burton have seen their bank accounts boosted to the tune of £1,000 for every ticket they play after winning the daily prize on Thursday.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said: “I couldn’t be more pleased for all our players in Christchurch who have picked up a prize today. With Christmas just around the corner I’m sure that the windfall will come in very handy.”
In October, five residents from Old Farm Road in Poole each picked up a cheque for £1,000 after scooping the daily prize. While in April, two people who live in Meadow Avenue in Fordingbridge saw their bank balance boosted by £1,000 each with a third person celebrating a double win after landing a £2,000 prize.
Each month, players living within the same postcode win a share of £3m.
A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised £361 million to date for 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
Many good causes local to the winners have benefitted from the money raised.
The next opportunity to apply for funding will be in February.
