BOURNEMOUTH businesses are being urged to create their own unique Christmas trees out of their own products or services.

The initiative is a competition organized by the Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID) to coincide with the resort’s Christmas Tree Wonderland.

The town has been decked out with more than 100 illuminated trees, many represent-ing different countries, making a trail from the seafront through the gardens to the Square, the Triangle and Lansdowne.

The Town Centre BID, one of the key partners in the seasonal celebrations, is inviting traders to add to the tree theme.

They are being urged to create a Christmas trees out of their products. Examples so far include Laceys Solicitors, making a tree out of law books, and Westover Gallery, fashioning a tree from picture frames.

Paul Kinvig, chief operating officer for the Town Centre BID, said: “Bournemouth is already looking marvellously festive with its stunning and magical Christmas Tree Wonderland.

“We thought this competition would be a fun way for local companies to get even more involved in the celebrations.

“It also presents them with a really unique and innovative way to showcase their business, allowing the general public to see them in a whole new light.”

The competition is open to Bournemouth Town Centre BID levy payers across all industry sectors.

To enter, companies need to create a Christmas Tree out of items that are relevant to them, put it on display in their shop window, office, restaurant, or anywhere where it can be seen by staff and/or clients, and then notify the Town Centre BID on info@towncentrebid.co.uk.

Entries will be judged by an independent panel during the week commencing December 17. The winning company will receive vouchers worth £250 to spend in the Town Centre BID levy-paying business of their choice.
