BEER drinkers across the conurbation helped to set a Guinness World Record last week (November 29).

Brewhouse & Kitchen, which has branches in Bournemouth, Poole and Southbourne, attempted the world’s largest beer tasting on Thursday night.

The independent pub group said in total 1,264 people had turned out to be part of the event which took place across all 21 Brewhouse & Kitchen sites across the UK.

It was the first time Brewhouse & Kitchen had attempted to set the world record.

Participants got the chance to sample three of Brewhouse & Kitchen’s craft beers during the attempt which was overseen by adjudicators from Guinness World Records.

Bournemouth man Kris Gumbrell, who co-founded Brewhouse & Kitchen, thanked local communities for their support in the record attempt and said it would not have been possible without them.

He added: “This is a world record not just for Brewhouse & Kitchen but for all who took part. We couldn’t be prouder.”
