THE latest set of recommended director appointments for the new Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council have been announced.

Jan Thurgood is recommended for the director of adult social care role, while Kate Ryan is recommended for director of environment and community.

Currently, Kate is strategic director of place theme at Borough of Poole, while Jan is Poole's director of people.

Bill Cotton, currently executive director of environment and economy at Bournemouth Borough Council, is recommended for director of regeneration and economy.

These tier 2 director recommendations are being made by the senior appointments committee.

The committee has also recommended Julian Osgathorpe takes up the director of resources role at the new joint authority.

Julian is currently seconded as director of the BCP programme.

Cllr Janet Walton, chairman of the senior appointments committee, said: "The committee is delighted to make these recommendations for the director roles of the new council.

"We are confident that the recommended candidates will work well with members and the chief executive designate to create a strong senior management team as we move through this exciting programme of change and transformation."

The new authority comes into being on April 1, 2019.
