A WOMAN has died following a crash in Hamworthy earlier this month.

The casualty, 74, was on foot when she was involved in a crash with a grey Toyota Yaris at the junction of Lake Road and Upwey Avenue at around 4.35pm on Tuesday, November 20.

She was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious head injury. Despite the efforts of doctors, she died this morning.

The driver of the Toyota, a woman in her 70s, was checked over by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

Inspector Joe Pardey, of the traffic unit, said: “We were very sad to learn of the death of the pedestrian involved in this collision and her family is being supported by specially-trained officers."

A detailed investigation into the crash continues, he said.

Anyone with information about the incident, as well as witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police, are asked to contact police on 101 quoting 55180187494.

“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling in the area at the relevant time and have dashcam fitted to their vehicle to check their footage," Insp Pardey said.
