THERE will be snow in Westbourne when a special Christmas event returns today.

Westbourne’s Victorian-themed Christmas celebrations will begin with a Choirs by Candlelight service complete with snow in Westbourne Arcade between 4pm and 7pm.

There will also be a Victorian storyteller while Victorian song sheet handlers will provide lyrics to traditional carols for all to join in.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy late night shopping plus Ginjams will be treating adult visitors to Mulled Gin. While, children’s entertainer Jamie Jigsaw will be wowing the little ones who can get their faces festively painted courtesy of Diamond Faces.

Carols by Candlelight is just the first in a series of seasonal events taking place every weekend in the run-up to Christmas.

On Saturday, Santa will take up residence in his grotto and there will be a festive feel to the Artisan Farmers Market while Peter Treble Butchers will be holding their annual sausage eating competition.

There will also be musical entertainment from Sound of Soul Choir and Rimskis Bicycle.
