HUNDREDS of new festive lights have been placed in trees near Bournemouth seafront.

Around 530 illuminated Christmas stars have been placed in 35 trees lot by more than 90 uplighters across 25 hotels and two roundabouts along the East Cliff and West Cliffs areas.

The new lights, which are part of the Christmas Tree Wonderland attraction, were switched on by Coastal BID Chairman Paul Clarke on November 16.

Paul Clarke, who is also the general manager of Hallmark Hotels Bournemouth, said: “We are delighted to see the stunning results of this new collaboration between ourselves and the East Cliff and West Cliff hoteliers.

The project was completed with assistance from Bournemouth Borough Council, Gala Lights and Event Power Engineering.
