1. Light Up the Prom takes place tomorrow night (November 23) at Pier Approach. The annual fundraising memorial event was originally due to take place earlier this month but had to be postponed due to bad weather. The night begins at 7.30pm with a two-minute silence as hundreds of lights illuminate the prom followed by a firework display. The Funky Little Choir will also perform. People can purchase a light in memory of a loved one and dedicated their name into a Book of Light.

2. Southbourne switches on its Christmas lights on Saturday. Around 80 trees that line Southbourne Grove will be illuminated by a local celebrity at 5.45pm. The Christmas Tree Festival will also begin at Immanuel Church which will be open between 4pm and 7pm each day to give people the chance to vote for the best decorated tree from a selection of more than 30 real trees.

3. Bournemouth Christmas Tree Wonderland continues with daily sound and light shows at the walk-through tree in the Lower Gardens every 30 minutes from 5pm until 8.30pm.

4. An indoor Christmas market is being held at the Littledown Centre on Sunday between 11am and 4pm. There will be more than 150 stalls showcasing Christmas gifts and seasonal goods including handcraft jewellery, fused glass, local preserves, chutneys, award-winning fudge, cakes, cheeses and more.

5. Olivier Award-winning actor Guy Masterson will be appearing in A Christmas Carol at Boscombe’s Shelley Theatre tomorrow night at 7.30pm. He will be aided by no more than a chair and coat as he brings the Charles Dickens classic to life.

6. More than 280 young dancers from seven dance schools in the area will be performing in the Magical Christmas show at the Pavilion Theatre on Sunday. There will be performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets cost £14.50.

7. Kingston Lacy is celebrating Stir-up Sunday this weekend. Visitors will be able to take their turn at stirring the pudding mix before making a wish and taking home their own Christmas pudding. Admission fees apply.

8. A Christmas craft fair comes to Upton House on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a host of stalls selling festive goodies between 10am and 4pm.

9. Christchurch Christmas Festival returns on Saturday between 10am and 8pm. There will be real reindeer in Saxon Square, street food, live music and a market with a Santa's parade at 5pm. Broadcaster Fred Dinenage will help the Mayor of Christchurch switch on the lights at the Mayor's Parlour at 6pm.

10. An afternoon of festive fun is being held in Ferndown on Saturday. In Penny's Walk from 1pm, there will be stalls, rides, games, food and drink, live music and a visit from Father Christmas with the lights switched on under the clock tower at 5pm.

11. AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe will switch on the Christmas lights in Wimborne Square at 4.30pm on Saturday. There will be music and entertainment from the likes of Ukulele Band and West Moors Gospel Choir from 10.30am and Wimborne Militia will bring the day to a climax at 4.45pm when they will be firing on the Minster Green.

12. Castlepoint Shopping Centre's illuminations will be switched on tomorrow between 5pm and 7pm. The cast of Sleeping Beauty at the BIC will be making an appearance.

13. New Milton Christmas Festival is being held in the town centre on Saturday. There will be festive stalls, singers, bands and entertainment. The event will also incorporate a Disney-themed Lantern Parade organised by The Lions Club as well as the town's big switch on.

14. Lymington's Christmas lights will be switched on tomorrow night at 6.15pm. There will be late night shopping, stalls and a visit from Father Christmas.
