POLICE are searching for a hit-and-run motorist who drove around a teenage casualty after a crash in Poole this morning.

Officers are calling for information after the collision, which happened at 8am in Rossmore Road at the junction with Trinidad Crescent.

A small black Citroen car was involved in a collision with the 14-year-old boy opposite the boxing club. The boy was crossing the junction on a bike at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Citroen drove around the boy and made no attempt to check if he was ok, police say.

The teenager suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Sergeant Fern Graham said: “Evidence from witnesses at the scene suggests that the motorist drove around the boy on the ground before turning into Rossmore Road and left the area, making no attempt to check on his welfare."

Witnesses are asked to contact police via dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting 21:77.

Sgt Graham said: “I would also urge the driver involved to please come forward so we can establish from you exactly what happened today.”
