TOWN Hall licensing chiefs have called time on two Bournemouth off-licences and demanded a shake-up at a third, after all three sold alcohol to children posing as customers.

Premier Hillside Stores in Kinson and Ensbury Park Wines were both stripped of their licences after repeated warnings from councillors and police.

Townsend's One Stop was ordered to retrain its entire staff after a 16-year-old sales assistant was fined for selling cider to a child sent by police.

Cllr Andrew Morgan, acting chairman of the licensing board, told Ensbury Park Wines' licensee Zhanar Aziyeva that she had "conspicuously failed" to keep to conditions applied to her licence at a review last year.

But Ms Aziyeva accused the licensing board of trying to kill small businesses, claiming they were victims of a wider social problem. "These children have no respect for their families or even the police. You should sort out families who drink and fight. We are not responsible for children out after 9pm," she said.

Hasan Bulbul was stripped of his right to sell drink at his store in Kinson after failing three mystery shopper tests - twice selling alcohol to 14-year-olds.

On-the-spot fines had failed to bring the store into line and councillors finally acted after police first discovered staff selling drink to children at the end of last year.

Townsend's One Stop was ordered to clean up its act by painting its vandalised Jewell Road store with special anti-graffiti paint.

Councillors ordered the store to keep CCTV records for 31 days and to demand photo passports or driving licences where age was an issue.
