A DORSET schoolboy was thrilled to step out at Twickenham as England's mascot ahead of their clash with the mighty All Blacks.

Jack Davis, who plays rugby for Blandford RFC, is still recovering from the excitement of the day - especially as he also got to meet another huge rugby fan, HRH Prince Harry.

New Zealand might have just edged it on the day, but the timing of the game - the day before Remembrance Sunday - held extra significance for the Davis family.

Both of Jack's great-great grandfathers fought in The Great War.

And his great-great on his mother's side was Lancelot Slocock, who captained the English rugby team in 1908.

Lancelot was killed in 1916 during the Battle of the Somme.

Jack, who attends Leweston Prep School, Sherborne, was over the moon to have been asked to be England's mascot.

He practiced the National Anthem with his classmates in the lead up to the event.
