WHILST I welcome Bournemouth council erecting signs on the prom reminding cyclists to keep to the 10mph speed limit, I really don't think it will deter the regular speedsters who are such a danger to the public.
If instead they supplied their Prom Rangers with a police-type hand held speed camera, used randomly, the £100 fine (reduced for early payment) would be a far greater deterrent.
If they refused to stop they would be taken to court and fined £330 as in the recent case where Prom Rangers stopped a cyclist riding illegally.
