TO mark Remembrance Day and the centenary of the end of the Great War, Yellow Buses has put a 'Poppy Bus' in to service.
The single decker has been wrapped in a poppy design and will be running on various routes across the conurbation.
Other buses in the fleet will be displaying poppies, and staff are being encouraged to get behind this year’s Royal British Legion appeal.
Passengers can buy poppies from Yellow Buses’ town centre travel shop.
David Squire, managing director of Yellow Buses, said: “It is a very special Remembrance Day this year, marking as it does the centenary of the end of World War One.
“Yellow Buses was operating through that war and we lost staff in the conflict.
“We’ve also had veterans working for us ever since and we will be remembering all those killed in the line of duty in all conflicts.
“We are grateful to Insignia Designs for creating the unique design for our bus, which will act as a reminder to people who see it that our freedoms were secured by many people making the ultimate sacrifice.”
