A FIRE broke out at a restaurant on Mudeford sandbank last night.
Firefighters were called to the Beach House, which is situated on the harbour side of Mudeford sandbank, at 6.35pm.
Crews from Christchurch, Springbourne, Redhill Park and Poole attended.
The fire affected the rear kitchen, restaurant and a storage area.
Firefighters had to cut away the roof to ventilate the property.
Crews used 12 breathing apparatus and three main lines to extinguish the fire.
The final crew left the scene at 10.34pm.
Posting on Facebook this morning, the Beach House said: “Unfortunately, last night we had a fire at the beach house.
“We need to thank the amazing emergency services.
“Thankfully no one’s hurt but understandably we won’t be open this weekend, thanks for your support.”
One appliance will return to the site today to carry out further inspections to ensure there are no residual hotspots.
