A FAMILY has instructed compensation lawyers after a flight from Tenerife was diverted from Bournemouth to Bristol and touched down nearly four hours late.
Disabled Colin Goodger, 68, was travelling with his wife, daughter, son-in-law and 18-month-old grandson when their TUI flight landed at 3am.
The family, who live in Ferndown, have asked for compensation, claiming they were not offered food or drink at the airport in Tenerife.
Colin, who suffers from back problems, said he was in discomfort during the delay, which took place in May.
He said: "A free drink would have gone a long way, a glass of water or cup of tea. There weren’t any amenities for the baby and there were no staff helping us.
"They kept us waiting for over three hours before telling us we were flying to Bristol."
And he said there were further delays when they got to Bristol.
"Our bags were nowhere to be seen and we were stood waiting. We had no pushchair and there was nowhere to sit apart from a motionless baggage carousel."
The family eventually arrived at their home at 8am after being transported from Bristol in a taxi.
Mr Goodger said they have been denied compensation and have now instructed FlightCompensation.com
