AN INQUEST was opened in Bournemouth on Monday morning into the deaths of the teenage couple killed in an horrific road crash near Wool on Thursday.

Aimee Louise Mead, 18, from Melksham, and Simon James Harley, 19, of Chippenham, died as a result of multiple injuries sustained in the crash.

Driver Simon, a factory worker, and passenger Aimee, a counter assistant, were travelling on Tout Hill, near Monkey World, when the accident happened.

Their Ford Escort LX collided with a minibus carrying Army personnel from nearby Bovington Camp on a sharp bend in the road.

Four of the passengers in the Ford Transit, including a woman six months pregnant, were taken to hospital but were not seriously injured.

The families of the two were informed of their deaths shortly before midnight on Thursday.

The inquest was adjourned with a date to be fixed.
