AN EAST Dorset town has been awarded its second medal this year for its beautiful blooms.
Wimborne was handed a silver gilt medal at the national RHS Britain in Bloom UK finals, which were held in Belfast last week. It narrowly lost out to Linlithgow in Scotland.
Judges commented on how clean the streets were during their visit and praised the Wimborne in Bloom team of volunteers.
The honour comes just over a month after the town won a gold award at the South and South East in Bloom awards for the fifth successive year.
In Bloom chair Richard Nunn thanked supporters in Wimborne after receiving the national prize.
