HAVING soundtracked countless weddings in the last two years, mainstream pop's favourite singer-songwriter James Blunt is returning to Bournemouth to play the BIC early next year.
Tickets go on sale on Wednesday for the show in the Solent Hall on January 17.
Back in the charts with his new single, 1973, Blunt's big break came two years ago with his debut album, Back To Bedlam which spawned the ubiquitous hit, You're Beautiful.
Public schoolboy Blunt served in Kosovo as a Captain with the Life Guards Regiment and claims to have taken his guitar into the line of fire, leading 30,000 troops into the capital Pristina.
Within a year of leaving the Army he had caught the eye (and ear) of famed American songwriter Linda Perry and his second career as a singer-songwriter was born. After a tour supporting Elton John, his third single - You're Beautiful - topped the charts, swiftly followed by the album.
- Please note that because of the Labour Party Conference, the BIC box office is closed. Tickets are available by phone and online.
