A FITNESS craze aiming to give mums support and the chance to stay active has arrived in Bournemouth.

The town is only the second place in the country where Stroller Strong Mums is operating.

It has been brought here by Emma Evans, who lived in Kansas for two years when her husband was posted their with the army.

She fell in love with the term coined by the group SLAM (sweat like a mother) and when she returned to Bournemouth, wanted others to experience the challenge and sense of community as well.

Emma, who lives in Southbourne, said: "Being a mum can be an isolating experience so finding your mum tribe is so important and can be life-changing.

"It is so motivating working out next to other mums who are going through the same experiences and challenges, working hard and pushing each other towards their goals – and all the time showing children how important it is to be strong and healthy. "

Stroller Strong Mums Bournemouth meet every Monday to Thursday at 9.30am in Kings Park, opposite the café and all mums are welcome - even if their children no longer require a push chair.

As well as normal classes there are nights out, 5k runs, themed workouts and playgroups after class for the children.

If the weather is bad, the group will meet at Beaufort Community Centre in Southbourne.

The first class is always free. Go to strollerstrongmoms.com/Bournemouth-UK
