FIRSTLY, we would like to apologise immensely to our customers (‘Damning report for outlet’, Daily Echo, October 11).

We were, however, revisited recently by two inspectors that struggled to believe that this would have ever been rated so low.

We believe our zero rating to be an unfair one and to see some of the comments is very disappointing. Also the owner’s response has been taken completely out of context.

We accept full responsibility that there were issues that could have been dealt with differently and these have since been rectified.

We are a small family restaurant who pride ourselves on the quality of our food.

We have never, nor will we ever, serve food unfit for consumption. The packs of houmous were initially bought as a back-up but were not needed as we make our own.

This was purely an oversight in our stock rotation system.

The rest of the food found that appeared to be out of date had been frozen and was taken out to defrost that morning, however still had the original date on. This was also a management issue that has since been rectified.

Since that visit in August we have new chefs, new management and we are now using a new dating and labelling system which makes it clearer for people to understand e.g. inspectors.

We believe that this is an unfair representation of who we are. Once again we apologise and we thank our loyal customers for your support. One Love.
