PLANS to build four bungalows on green belt land at the rear of a property in Christchurch are set to be refused after being viewed as "inappropriate".
The proposals for the site in Burley Road, Winkton, have been recommended for refusal to Christchurch Borough Council's planning committee.
Applicant Montpellier Land and Developments Limited are seeking permission to build four detached three-bedroom bungalows with on site parking and a new access road.
The scheme will be considered by the planning committee at a meeting on Thursday, October 18.
A statement from Pure Town Planning on behalf of the applicant says: "In respect of the newly constructed bungalows, each shall be individually designed, and constructed using high quality architecture and materials specification.
"Each bungalow shall be positioned within its own landscaping grounds, and will have sufficient separation to neighbouring dwellings to prevent harmful overlooking or overbearing effect."
A recommendation from an officer advises councillors to refuse the scheme as "the proposals represent inappropriate development in the green belt".
No objections were raised by Burton Parish Council, Dorset County Council's highways team or Wessex Water.
The report from planning officer Sophie Mawdsley says: "The location of the proposed development does not conform to the settlement hierarchy and Winkton is not considered to provide sufficient access to services, facilities and employment to be identified as suitable for housing development."
