POLICE seized 50 vehicles and arrested100 people in six months as part of a long-running operation.
The force’s No Excuse team tackles Operation Dragoon targets – prolific offenders who pose a risk on the road through offences such as drink/drug driving and speeding.
Statistics published in this month’s Dorset Road Safe newsletter reveal the level of enforcement between January and June this year.
As part of Operation Dragoon, 243 vehicles were stopped, 50 were seized, and 100 targets were arrested.
Figures for offences committed by other motorist were also recorded, with 27,452 drivers caught speeding in the six-month period, 346 vehicles seized for no insurance, and 40 for anti-social behaviour.
Officers also made 431 drink-related arrests, 365 drug-related arrests, and detected 371 mobile phone offences.
