THE long-awaited Silent Soldier silhouettes are now in place across Christchurch.
Members of the Royal Naval Association (RNA), alongside colleagues from the Royal British Legion and Royal Airforce Association paraded their standards at a short service of dedication and thanksgiving.
The event took place at the location of the RNA sponsored silhouette, which is in fact a sailor.
Members of the organisations were joined on Barrack Road Recreation Ground by the Mayor of Christchurch Lesley Dedman and many residents.
The commemoration services in Christchurch continue in the coming weeks, with a Beacon of Light event at Christchurch Quay on Sunday, November 11 at 6.45pm.
