THE winners of the Daily Echo’s Child of the Year Competition 2018 have been revealed.

This year we received more than 130 entries across our four different age categories.

Sebastian Hancock was named the winner of our 0 to 9 months category as well as the overall winner of the competition.

Cally Payne is the winner of the 10 to 18 months category with Arthur Sturgess taking first place in the 19 to 36 months category.

Alfie Whitemore is the winner of the three to six years category.

Each category winner will receive a family day ticket (valid for two adults and two children) to Weymouth Sea Life Centre including access to Pirate Adventure Golf and Jurassic Skyline.

Overall winner Sebastian and his family will also win a breakfast with the seals experience.

Weymouth Sea Life Centre is home to more than 1,000 creatures, Caribbean Cove – Dorset’s largest outdoor adventure playground – as well as a splash zone and pool all included in admission.

Earlier this year Weymouth Sea Life Centre welcomed a colony of fairy penguins, which is the only colony in Europe.

The penguins moved into a brand new state-of-the-art enclosure in May.

Entering this year’s Child of the Year competition was easier than ever with readers invited to upload their entries for free via bournemouthecho.co.uk.

All the entries appeared in the Daily Echo at the end of August with readers invited to vote for the child they would like to see crowned winner of the competition.

The top four pictures from each category then went into a shortlisted before a panel of judges selected a winner in each category.
