A NEW sponsor has been announced for the second annual Daily Echo Proud to Care Awards.

The awards, to be presented in 13 categories, recognise all the good work going on in the care industry across Dorset and the New Forest.

The latest organisation to get on board is the Rotary Club of Bournemouth which will be sponsoring the Young Carer Award.

Last week Bournemouth Careline announced its continued support for the awards and a spokesman said: "Bournemouth Careline is a 24-hour council service providing emergency help and support to residents throughout Dorset.

"We are delighted to be sponsoring the Special Recognition Award as an opportunity to acknowledge the vital work of carers in both a professional and personal capacity."

Members of the public have until October 15 to nominate those who they believe deserve an award.

Judging will take place in the week beginning October 17 and a shortlist will be published in the Daily Echo and online on November 8.

Awards will be presented at a ceremony and celebratory lunch at Bournemouth's Marsham Court Hotel on Thursday November 15.

The awards are held in conjunction with Bournemouth and Poole councils.
