A DRINK driver who was involved in a crash while almost four times the limit has been banned from the roads for three years.

Frank Horne, of Hillside Road in Corfe Mullen, admitted driving a Suzuki Swift in New Road, Ferndown on September 22 with 138 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The limit is 35mg.

Magistrates in Poole heard Horne's car was involved in a crash with a Hyundai i10 and a Volkswagen Transporter shortly before 5pm.

No one was injured.

Horne, 56, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months after magistrates called the reading "exceptionally high" and commented on his "poor driving".

He was also banned from driving for 36 months and ordered to 150 hours of unpaid work within the next months and a further 15 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement.
