BOURNEMOUTH has one of the best driver/cyclist relationships in the UK, according to a recent survey. In a survey of 2,000 people from around the UK, car leasing company Cars on Demand found Bournemouth had comparatively stronger relationships between drivers and cyclists.
However, when asked how they would rank their relationship with cyclists out of 10 (ten being the most harmonious, and one being the least), overall drivers gave a rating of 6.3. Cyclists, on the other hand, gave a lower rating of their relationship with drivers - 4.9 out of 10.
The combined relationship rating is 5.6 out of 10.
Unsurprisingly, London has the worst overall driver/cyclist relationships, with a combined average of 4.5 out of 10. The survey found three quarters of drivers empathise with cyclists and their frustrations.
