A BOWLING alley has unveiled its new look following a £250,000 makeover.

Bowlplex on Poole Road in Branksome has been transformed into Hollywood Bowl.

The 24-lane bowling alley has been re-designed to feature contemporary American décor and a Hollywood diner serving gourmet burgers and hotdogs, freshly made thick shakes served into retro milk bottles as well as “signature” desserts.

Work began in July and took a total of three weeks, during which the centre remained open for business.

There’s also an American-style bar offerings speciality cocktails and two pool tables.

The amusement area has also undergone a revamp and now features a number of leading arcade games including Jurassic Park, Cruisin Blast, Pacman Smash, Cranes, MOTO GP Bikes, Injustice and Time Crisis 5.

To celebrate the rebrand, a VIP relaunch party was held with families, businesses, social media influencers invited along to meet a Marilyn Monroe lookalike who cut the ribbon and posed for photos with guests.

Paula Christie, centre manager of Hollywood Bowl Branksome, Poole, said: “The entire centre has been completely updated. We’re really excited to bring the Hollywood Bowl experience to the centre and are already receiving very positive feedback from customers who’ve visited so far.”
