A TEENAGER has been detained in a young offender institution after staff at his supported housing found a blade in his room.
Momodou Darboe, who lives in Langdon Road, Poole, appeared before magistrates on Thursday to admit failing to comply with the supervision requirements of a detention and training order.
The order was made for an offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
However, staff at the 18-year-old's home found a kitchen knife with an 11 centimetre serrated blade in his room on August 12. As a result, he breached the order, which required him not to be in possession of any knives or other offensive weapon.
The teenager was also found in possession of a Stanley knife in the Dolphin Centre on August 30. He admitted the charge, as well as further charges of having three wraps of cocaine in his possession in Madeira Road, Bournemouth on August 28 and a quantity of cannabis in his possession on August 30.
Magistrates committed the defendant to 26 weeks of detention after hearing of his previous convictions and "repeat offending". He was also ordered to pay a £115 surcharge.
The drugs seized were forfeited and will be destroyed.
