I AM writing this letter to vent my extreme disappointment at the council's decision to refuse a licence for the 2018 Boscombe Community Fair due to complaints about noise at last year's event. I have been a regular attendee ever since its conception and have enjoyed listening to a variety of diverse music over the years. As venues continue to close on the south coast eg, Mr Kyps and the Talking Heads in Southampton this year alone, the event has become an important showcase for local bands and singers to air their talents.

As I compose this letter the annual Bournemouth Air Show kicks into gear and noisy, polluting aircraft scream over my garden.

I am not asking that this nuisance be banned, just that there needs to be more of a balance when the council make their decisions.

By the way, I am not a tattooed, pierced, dreadlocked youth, but a 66- year-old, rate paying, Boscombe resident asking for some fairness.
