THERE'S a Fashion, Hair and Beauty Spectacular coming to town. On October 18, Society Magazine and the local HNB Salon Group, are staging an extravaganza of fashion, hair and beauty at the Opera House, Boscombe, featuring real clothes, for real people.

Clothes will be provided by The Designers at Debenhams, including a fantastic range from Red Herring, Jasper Conran, Betty Jackson, John Richmond and John Rocha - to name but a few - with accessories by Julian McDonald.

Clothing will include daywear, nightwear, children's wear, menswear, swimwear and there will be models from the ages of three to 83 strutting their stuff on the catwalk - you may even catch a glimpse of some young, fit London Irish Rugby players so be careful not to blink, you won't want to miss a thing!

Steph Stevenson, group director of HNB, Salon Group, which is co-ordinating the show, says: "HNB want to produce a Fashion Show using local people as models. We want the show to be real and that's why we've decided not to use professional models most people have difficulty relating to. We want the show to be more than just a fashion' show, so we are including hair ideas, beauty secrets and a chance to view some of the Christmas collections at Debenhams.

"The show will have contributions from all areas of local talent and we are thoroughly looking forward to the event which promises to be something different, entertaining and great fun for all ages."

With fashion, hair and beauty being the main focus of the evening, The Butterfly Appeal has been nominated as the local charity to benefit from a percentage of the proceeds from the show and an auction being held on the night.

The Butterfly Appeal, based in Poole, supports people who have cancer of the head and neck and is working tirelessly to raise funds for a state-of-the-art medical research resource facility to be based locally within the About Face Centre (AFC).

Ian Catley of The Butterfly Appeal said: "Everyone at the Butterfly Appeal for About Face is looking forward to the big night out at The Opera House. People with facial cancer are at the heart of all we do... and opening the AFC in Poole will be brought a little nearer because of this fun, fundraising event organised by Dorset Society Magazine and HNB Salons."
