PLANS have been submitted to operate a new car parking system at a Waitrose store in the New Forest.
The proposals for the supermarket facility in Standford Road, Lymington include installing an automatic number plate recognition camera on a column at the entrance and exit area.
A flood risk, design and access statement says: "The new pay on foot system will help facilitate the availability of parking spaces for Waitrose customers."
If approved by New Forest District Council, a new ANPR camera will be installed at 4.5m above ground level on a column.
The plans do not detail whether the free parking currently available for Waitrose customers will be retained through the pay on foot system.
