There were major traffic delays around Hurn and Parley this afternoon due to roadworks.
There was a clash due to ongoing works at Hurn, which were scheduled and an emergency repair to a gas leak at Ensbury Bridge.
Traffic was queueing on New Road and around Bournemouth Airport as a result of roadworks at Hurn roundabout and near Ensbury Bridge.
There were temporary traffic lights near Ensbury Bridge and around Hurn roundabout.
Travel information team, Travel Dorset said: "West Parley - A347 New Road - temporary lights and emergency gas escape at Ensbury Bridge. Lights expected to be removed by the end of the day.
@Bournemouthecho traffic chaos! Took me 20 minutes to do a 3 minute journey from Blackwater traffic lights to Hurn roundabout. On way home I turned around as the queue was back to Adventure Wonderland. Then got stuck at Parley. Don't these works get planned? #bankholidayweekend
