CROWDS flocked to the second day of the Poole Park Festival on sunny Bank Holiday Monday, and were stunned to see "Prince Charles" getting involved.

Friends of Poole Park, who organised the festival, said the impersonator was brought in to give a bit of interest.

Other highlights on the Monday included music from the Queen tribute band The Great Pretender, the Alani String Quartet and the Swapfish Blues and Rock Band.

There was plenty on offer during the day, with art, craft and trade stalls, children's rides and entertainment, sports activities throughout the day including self defence demos, jaw-dropping stunts from Animal Braun Cruzer3 bikes, and an all-day flame circus skills tuition and practise session.

For sporty people the day offered free bowling and tennis sessions, dance workshops for jive, merengue and salsa, sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing.

Dorset Fire and Rescue Service held a chip pan fire demonstration, and there was a Chinese dragon lion dance in West Car Park.

Organisers are expecting more than 20,000 visitors to have attended the two-day event, now in its fourth year.
