A 51-YEAR-OLD man arrested following the alleged rape of an 18-year-old cyclist has been released under investigation.
The man was questioned by detectives following an incident in woodland near Wool between 10.30am and 11.30am on Tuesday August 7.
It was reported that the teenager was cycling along a country lane which leads from Bindon Lane toward Woodstreet Farm and the B3071 when she was approached from behind by a vehicle, causing her to fall off her bike.
A man is then alleged to have led her into a wooded area before raping her.
A Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of rape yesterday and has since been released while inquiries continue.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the incident, who has not already spoken to police, to come forward.
