A RAINBOW sash put in place as a show of support for Bournemouth’s Pride Festival has been stolen.

LV= dressed its well-recognised giant green heart at County Gates with a multi-coloured sash in support of the LGBT+ community.

The sash was due to be in place on the Westbourne roundabout for four days on Friday.

The employer also flew the rainbow flag over its head office.

Sam Preece, head of brand Marketing at LV=, said: "Sadly, our Pride sash was stolen on Friday night. For the past three years, the sash has been a prominent part of LV=’s celebration of Bournemouth Pride and it’s really disappointing that it was taken. We would ask that whoever took it, can they please return it our office reception at Frizzell House. We won’t ask any questions, we’d just love to have it back.”

Bourne Free took place between Friday and Sunday with a host of events taking place for all ages.

The event kicked-off with a family screening of popular Disney film, The Little Mermaid, at the Triangle on Friday evening.

Then on Saturday, thousands of people filled the streets of Bournemouth to watch a Hawaiian-themed parade make its way from East Cliff to The Triangle where entertainment continued into the night.
