CIVIC officials have started the legal process to evict travellers from Poole's Baiter Park.
Eight caravans and associated vehicles pulled onto the site on Friday (June 29) evening.
Yesterday (July 2), direction notices were served on the encampment, with council officials looking to secure court time to apply for eviction orders later this week.
This is the second unauthorised encampment at Baiter Park in as many months.
Neighbours have called for Borough of Poole (BOP) to put in stronger measures to deter any future incursions.
A BOP spokesman confirmed: "There is an unauthorised encampment on Borough of Poole land at Baiter Park, comprising of approximately eight caravans/motorhomes and associated vehicles."
